Mission Opportunity

Some of you may remember that several years ago Cathy and I flew to Main to do an ordination service for a friend who had been one of the youth in the first church I pastored. More recently Randy and his wife Sandy have been in ministry pastoring a church in Aviano, Italy. They have been there three years and now have found that because of some medical problems for Sandy and his mother-in-law, they are having to move back to the States. In March, Randy contacted me with an opportunity that he felt led to talk with me about. He will be returning to the States in September and asked if I would be willing to pray about going to
Aviano, Italy to serve as interim pastor for 90 days while this church searched for a new pastor. I have talked with the deacons about this mission opportunity and they have agreed that God has opened up this opportunity for us to use as an extended mission trip or working sabbatical. We would be in Italy from the middle of September through the middle of December of this year.

While I am away, Preston will be preaching and the deacons along with other men of the church will be taking care of Wednesday night services. There may be Sundays that Preston will need to be away so we are working on a list of others who will preach for him.

Cathy and I ask for your prayers, to support us as we prepare for this mission opportunity.

Respectfully,

Frank and Cathy Deerey
