Capital Stewardship
What is the purpose of the Building Program and Capital Stewardship Campaign?
"The Future is Now" is about upgrading old and dated space to a new modern facility that will be accessible to everyone in our community. The old building has steps and thresholds at every door making it difficult for our seniors and impossible for some to have access to classrooms. The motel-style of our current educational building leaves us walking from Sunday School to Worship, or Wednesday night, exposed to the weather which is not always cooperative. We have been blessed with new growth in membership and visitors to our church. We need the space to accommodate this growth and to provide new programs and ministries. One area of much needed space is our nursery, children and youth ministries. Expanding these areas is the goal of Phase I and II.
How will building help us reach our community for Christ?
This project provides us a facility built to new codes for child care needs. We may have the opportunity to bring a Christian preschool back to the community if the Lord leads us to do that. We can provide much needed space for our Wednesday night programs for children and youth, our Vacation Bible School in the summer and our Judgement House outreach in the fall/winter.
How will we pay for this?
Through "The Future is Now" campaign, we hope to reach the members and the community who know that the need to continue to do God's work at First Baptist Church rests with this expansion and that through our faith in God we can commit to carrying out God's plan. Through prayer each person or family will need to determine what they can give for the three years of the campaign which began on December 2, 2007. As a church, we are seeking not equal gifts but equal sacrifice. Every gift is equally important.

The Lord has led the First Baptist Church to this point and we need your prayers that his plans may be carried out. Please be involved, participate, support and ask questions.
