Invitation to Participate in Bahamas Recovery

Royal Palm Baptist Churches,
Pastor David Gold and the Crossroads church family is investing $30,000 toward recovery efforts in the Bahamas and is looking for other churches to partner with them with able men and women to form 4 teams on 4 separate mission trips spanning Oct. 20 – Nov. 18.
Their Exec. Pastor, Paul Cords, will be there all 28 days to coordinate the effort to rebuild several churches and other key venues.

Bahamas Mission Trip Info sheet

Thank you for your interest in joining our efforts to assist the people of the Bahamas.  We will be on the island for 26 days and have 4 separate trips available during that time period. The trips will depart from the Port of Ft. Lauderdale using the Balearia Express which is a high-speed ferry. The following dates are available for you to sign up for.

Team #1                      10/20/2019 – 10/26/2019

Team #2                      10/27/2019 – 11/01/2019

Team #3                      11/03/2019 – 11/08/2019

Team #4                      11/10/2019 – 11/15/2019

While on the island we will be rebuilding damaged churches and possibly some pastor’s homes.  We will need men with construction experience.  We are in the process of having building materials sent to the island.  Tools and equipment needed will go over on pallets during the 1st trip and additional items that are needed will be sent with each additional trip as needed.  We will also be sending food items and cases of water with each team to help reduce the cost of purchasing food on the island.  Businesses are beginning to return to somewhat normal operation but food items on the island may still be at a premium.  We have obtained housing for up to 10 people per trip.

In order to travel to the Bahamas, you will need a passport.  Passport information is available online at the following link  You can also go to the Clerk of Courts Office or most US Post Offices.  Most passports can be expedited and fast-tracked for additional fees.

Costs for the trip  – 

Tickets on the Ferry  –                         $215.00 +/-  1 carry-on bag included.  Additonal luggage has bag fees

Food                                        Each team should bring enough food for their week.  We can bring coolers full of frozen meats, canned goods, dry goods, etc.  You can put snacks and candies in your bags to bring as well.  Once the teams are set each team can coordinate with each other to plan the food.

Items to bring –

Lightweight clothes as we will be working outdoors and in buildings with no A/C.

Toiletries and personal hygiene items – bring 1 roll of Toilet paper with each person.

Bath Towel/s   Swimming suit as there is a pool at the condo for when we return from work.  Work boots or heavy-duty shoes, Work gloves, Sunscreen, Modest sleepwear.  Air Mattress if you don’t feel comfortable sharing a bed.

Toolbelt with tools, i.e., Tape measure, hammer, speed square, pry bar, screwdrivers, battery operated drills.
